FLY-FISHING IN NEW MEXICO

Both the novice and the advanced angler will enjoy the beauty and peacefulness that surrounds them in northern New Mexico.

PAINTING SANTA FE

For years artists have come to Northern New Mexico to work. Many say that it is the indescribably blue skies and incomparable lighting due to the high altitude. Whatever the reason, no one can deny the volume and quality of art produced in the Santa Fe area. A local artist will instruct your guests in the fine points of capturing the unique beauty of Santa Fe. Led by trained art therapists, even the beginner will not have a problem opening up to find the art that is within all of us.

 RAFTING / FLOATING / KAYAKING

One of America’s most popular adventures, whitewater rafting is becoming a tradition for visitors to Northern New Mexico. The rafting season begins with the snowmelt in spring and generally lasts through September. All levels of rafters, from novice to expert will enjoy this adventure along the Rio Grande. Along the valley floor, the rafter will experience spectacular scenery, with a full range of whitewater on the “Racecourse” south of Taos. In addition, exciting river kayaking and calmer “float” trips are also available on the rivers, along with tours in sea kayaks on some of our local lakes.

HIKING

A hike through the local canyons, mountains and foothills of New Mexico is a special way to experience the Santa Fe area. Hikers are exposed to the stunning blue skies and pristine charms of the wilderness. All hiking levels can be accommodated; from beginner to advanced, northern New Mexico has a hike for everyone. Have a particular interest in petroglyphs? We can arrange exclusive hikes to remote and private petroglyphs sites where you will see some of the best examples of ancient rock art available in the Southwest.  

MOUNTAIN BIKING IN NEW MEXICO

Explore the majestic beauty of Southwestern deserts or the stunning views in the "high country" surrounding the ancient city of Santa Fe, NM! Our goal is to provide quality bicycling excursions to a broad range of levels and expectations, so if you're an "extreme" rider looking for a downhill thrill or a "never-ever" rider just wanting a taste of mountain biking, we've got you covered. Join us on one of our spectacular rides for an unforgettable journey and quite possibly your best vacation day in the " Land of Enchantment". Experienced riders bring your shoes, pedals, and any other equipment to make your ride more enjoyable.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Ride through the scenic hills and high desert ranch from the historic mining town of Cerrillos, New Mexico. Rides include spectacular 360 views of all area mountain ranges. Riders of all skill levels will appreciate the smooth riding gaited horses. Able riders may trot, canter, or gallop. North central New Mexico has been the location for many Western films made in recent years. Group members will cover some of the same country they may have seen on the screen in "Silverado", "Lonesome Dove," and "City Slickers." The stables will meet the needs of riders at any skill level. Private trail rides, trail rides with a barbecue and breakfast rides are all available.

SOUTHWESTERN COOKING CLASS

Ever wondered what to do with those green chiles? Now you can find out for yourself how to make some of our New Mexican specialties. Choose from one our local cooking schools, a private cooking class in a beautiful and secluded bed and breakfast in Chimayo or be the guest of a local chef in their beautiful home. All options provide professional chefs demonstrating and serving delicious Southwestern, New Mexican or Traditional Mexican cuisine. Classes can be arranged for breakfast, lunch or dinner and can be classroom style or hands-on.

MOTORCYCLE RIDES

Have your motorcycle license? Experience New Mexico on a Harley Davidson motorcycle! Tour the rolling hills on a late-model Harley with a local guide. Both half- and full-day tours are available.

KAYAKING

Discover one of New Mexico’s scenic lakes via sea kayak. Paddle into the backcountry desert environment to view mountain peaks and mesas towering overhead. Explore hidden inlets and coves and learn about the geology and archeology of the area. Birds and wildlife are often spotted. This is an excellent lake for learning basic sea kayaking techniques.

WINTER SPORTS - SKIING, SNOWBOARDING, SNOWSHOEING, CANYON HIKING

Santa Fe has many winter activities available while your group is here. Several local ski areas abound with great snow and challenging runs. Prefer a backcountry snowshoe or cross-country skiing? We can arrange rentals, transportation and private instructors. Or head down into a deep canyon for a winter hike – unlike any other hiking experience you’ve ever had!
